DPM-8628 Solvent-free high-temperature resistant methylsilicone resin

  • This product is an organic silicone resin designed for room-temperature curing and high-temperature resistance, featuring a two-component room-temperature curing system with rapid surface drying at ambient temperature. It offers outstanding performance characteristics including excellent aging resistance, resistance to both high and low temperatures, high hardness, wear resistance, as well as color and surface gloss retention.
  • The room-temperature curing high-temperature resistant silicone resin coating, formulated with DPM-8628, addresses the limitation inherent in other silicone resin products—where hardness and toughness cannot be simultaneously achieved—by offering superior overall performance. The cured coating, characterized by high hardness and high density, ensures exceptional thermal resistance, low permeability, and corrosion resistance, effectively isolating the metal surface from external factors such as water, air, and salts, thereby protecting it from environmental damage. Its high toughness ensures that the coating is resistant to cracking or delamination even under extreme conditions (e.g., acidic/alkaline environments, salt spray, or extreme temperatures), allowing for long-term durability and guaranteeing protective effectiveness for 20–30 years.
  • DPM-8628 contains no VOCs and features a high solid content combined with low viscosity; the resulting coating can be applied by spraying or brushing without the need for any diluents, thereby complying with environmental protection regulations. It offers high hardness – up to 8H or higher – but to ensure adequate adhesion to the substrate, the coating thickness should not exceed 35 μm. The coating does not discolor at high temperatures. The room-temperature curing high-temperature resistant silicone resin coating overcomes the limitation of traditional high-temperature coatings (e.g., Teflon, inorganic coatings, solvent-based silicone resin coatings, water-based silicone resin coatings, etc.) that cannot cure at room temperature; it is therefore more suitable for application in outdoor construction environments where large-scale workpieces, equipment, pipelines, platforms, or units cannot be baked at high temperatures. DPM-8628 is packaged in separate Component A and Component B

Curing conditions: Recommended for ambient temperature curing (25°C); the material should be touch-dry within 1 hour, and its performance will reach optimal conditions after 7 days or more of curing; if heating is required to accelerate the curing process, low-temperature baking is recommended (e.g., 80–100°C for 30 minutes); the material will achieve optimal performance after 7 days of storage; please refer to the application test for specific requirements.

Method of use

1、Coating formulation
Pigments and fillers should be added to DPM-8628A and dispersed uniformly at high speed; before use, they should be thoroughly mixed with DPM-8628B. A diluent may be used to thin the resin as required; the exact amount of diluent to be added should be determined based on actual application requirements.Room-temperature curing high-temperature resistant coating formulation (Component A):

production processes:

Disperse all components directly until a uniform mixture is obtained; it is recommended to disperse the mixture at 1200–1500 rpm for 45 minutes. During packaging, filter the mixture using a 200-mesh filter bag.

2、form of construction work

For the spray coating process, it is recommended to clean the substrate thoroughly before spraying – including degreasing and rust removal – and to sand the surface; increasing the substrate’s roughness will better enhance adhesion. The coating thickness should ideally be maintained between 25–35 μm; coatings that are too thick are prone to cracking at high temperatures.

3、condition of cure

Natural air-drying at room temperature: surface drying in 1 hour; achieves 8-hour drying time after 7 days; Low-temperature drying: bake at 80–100°C for 15–30 minutes to accelerate surface drying; To achieve maximum coating hardness and optimal performance, a minimum curing time of 7 days is required.

For the product after solvent addition, the appropriate drying temperature should be selected based on the solvent’s evaporation rate; for solvents with a high boiling point and slow evaporation rate, it is recommended to bake the product at 80–100°C to accelerate solvent evaporation. The residual solvent content will significantly affect the hardness and adhesion of the paint film.

Matters need attention

1.After pouring out the resin from the container, wipe away any excess resin from the container opening, tighten the bottle cap securely, and store the container in a cool place after sealing.
2.After use, brushes, spray guns, and similar tools should be promptly cleaned with a diluent for future use.
3.Open flames are strictly prohibited during construction; ensure proper ventilation.
4、This product has a slight odor and may cause mild irritation to the skin or eyes; if it accidentally comes into contact with the eyes, rinse immediately with plenty of water; if any discomfort occurs, seek medical attention at a hospital.
5、When the ambient temperature at the construction site is <15°C or the relative humidity is>75%, please proceed with the construction with caution.

  • Component A is packaged at 200 kg per barrel; store in a cool, dry place protected from light, with the storage temperature maintained between 5–25°C. Keep the packaging intact; the shelf life of both the main agent and the curing agent is 12 months. Component B must be stored in a tightly sealed container to prevent contact with moisture.
